If you have an ATI card, you may want to hold off on upgrading to the 10.7 drivers.  After I installed them I couldn't get the Catalyst Control Panel to start at all.  I uninstalled, reinstalled, used a cleaner app, reinstalled, and tried some other stuff and no dice.  Downgraded back to 10.6 and everything works fine.  So, my advice is wait for 10.8 and see if the problems are fixed.

First significant problem I've had. I don't see much difference between the two. I've had lots of issues with nvidia in the past. They are inferior in the way they handle multiple displays. So it's pretty much a wash.

I'd buy a 460 if I was buying today but when I got my card ATI was tops. I just go with the best choice atvthe time I'm buying. Competition is good.

I've heard that the the 460 is a hog on your power supply though. I've been considering upgrading to a radeon 5k series next time instead of nvidia.

The 460 is more efficient than the original Fermi 470 and 480 boards that came out. In SLI two 460's are beating the 480. Check out Toms Hardware about that.
